Has anyone noticed.
It's
November.
24 days from now, but who's counting?
"How do we identify someone as a Westerner ... Maybe it's just that life in the vicinity of great spaces does something to the mind... maybe there's a combination of genes which dictates a taste for long vistas, living in smallish towns in the vicinity of a natural world which is in some semblance of working order while occasionally honoring a yearning to hit the big road for new country simply in order to witness the sights ..." Bill Kittredge
I wanted to look up words. I wanted to look up velleityDon Delillo
and quotidian and memorize the fuckers for all time, spell them, learn them,
pronounce them syllable by syllable -- vocalize, phonate, utter the sounds, say
the words for all they're worth. This is the only way in the world you can
escape the things that made you.
At noon we have rain, which washes away the snow, and at dusk, when I stand on the river bank and watch the approaching boat contend with the current, a mixture of snow and rain comes down .... We go downstream, keeping close to a thicket of purple willow shrubs. The men at the oars tell us that only ten minutes ago a boy in a cart saved himself from drowning by catching hold of a willow shrub; his team went under .... The bare willow shrubs bend toward the water with a rustling sound, the river suddenly grows dark .... If there is a storm we shall have to spend the night among the willows, and in the end get drowned, so why not go on? We put the matter to a vote and decide to row on. - Anton Chekhov "Across Siberia"

It kinda has a way of sneaking up on you doesn't it? Even though you technically have 40 weeks to think about it.
Very exciting!!
You mean, it's almost Christmas? the ginerbread lattes are out at Starbucks!
I honestly think I may have a little denial going on ...
mnnnn gingerbread lattes....
Mmmm, gingerbread lattes....
Anything special happening in November, Pam? ; )
The last month, wow! Go out to dinner with your husband. Take a lot of naps. She'll be here before you know it!
Your pregnancy certainly has gone fast for me, but I remember how anxious/excited I felt, which can be exhausting to maintain for days that turn into weeks! Not to mention the waddling, groaning every time you stand up, peeing every two hours . . .
Sending good thoughts your way!
Cool! I was just wondering when your due date was.
If she comes on her due date you'll miss having a Scorpio...but I've known some nice Saggitarians.
Your little bun in the oven keeping you warm?
Any time now! Exciting! The key now is to be ready but patient. She'll be here before you know it.
Ack! 24 days??? So excited with anticipation to hear about your new arrival and watch your life change in such a beautiful way.
Can't think of anything else that would be going on, can you? Nope, nothing comes to mind. It's cold out, got the quilt on. Time for hot chocolate and Bailey's.
You guys make me smile. Yes, the official due date is the 30th -- though our doula said with first time mothers often its late -- so I should just tell people the beginning of December if they ask...you know the hardest part of this time of year for me is the dark comes so early -- I am really trying to be tuned into the cycles of the seasons this year -- feeling it so deeply -- and I am so looking forward to that day in December when the days begin to lengthen again....
So, I am very excited -- which, of course means for me that no one can really tell except for the smile on my face.

Wow. Other people's pregnancies sure do fly by.
Pammy-la, I can't believe it is so close. I'm so excited.
Are you freaking out? You seem way calm.
XOXO
